Post MLK Day

It's a beautiful day here in Central PA.  A little colder than depicted in this picture because it's the middle of January.

It's the day that Pennsylvania get's its 47th Governor.  So since I'm a "state worker" based out of downtown, they have given us the day off!

An extra day off, means more work in my home office.  It's coming along nicely and I'm just about finished.  For now that is.

My hutch is in place and I'm starting to fill in the blank spaces on the shelves.  Of course I wish I could hide that paper shredder, just not sure where yet.

Close up of the finish.  I first painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Aubusson Blue.  Then I painted over it with Old White for some reason.  Not sure why, but I did.  Once I realized that I didn't like that, I got out the can of Arles.  All the pictures that I have seen of Arles are beautiful.  Then I put a coat of clear wax on followed by dark wax.  As you can see I left the inside alone.  Not sure if it will stay that way or not.  But for today it's done.
